Our team

Dr. Carine Laporte is a board-certified veterinary dermatologist who practices at Dermatology for Animals in Salt Lake City and is the webmaster of DermaVet Us. With a passion for education, Dr. Laporte enjoys teaching the next generation of veterinary professionals, serving as a mentor to residents, students, and interns. Her commitment to advancing knowledge extends beyond the classroom, as she actively contributes to the field through research publications, authored textbook chapters, and lectures to veterinarians in the US. She and her family are the proud owners of a fun combination of dogs, cats, fish, quail, and Russian tortoises.

Our team

Curtis Plowgian is a board-certified veterinary dermatologist who practices at Animal Dermatology Clinic in Indianapolis, Indiana. He enjoys educating owners and veterinarians about how to help itchy and infected dogs and cats, and spending time with his own dog Gemma, and his cats Maddux, Stewart and Batch.

Our team
Andrew Simpson is a board-certified veterinary dermatologist practicing in the greater Chicagoland area at VCA Aurora Animal Hospital. He has enjoyed providing continuing education in the area of veterinary dermatology to general practitioners around the country in addition to publishing articles describing novel therapies for various skin diseases. He and his family are proud owners of a Rottweiler, a cat, two rats, and a Russian tortoise.
Our team
Christie Yamazaki is a board-certified veterinary dermatologist serving the greater San Francisco/Bay Area, practicing at Dermatology For Animals in Oakland, California. In addition to cooking alongside food blogs with her husband and toddler, she enjoys fostering long-term collaborative relationships with her patients, their familles and primary care veterinarians through the process of diagnosing and managing allergic and immune-mediated skin and ear disease.
Our team

Dr. Rebecca Mount was born and raised in Albuquerque, NM. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of New Mexico in 2005 and her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Colorado State University College of Veterinary and Biomedical Sciences in 2009. Following graduation, Dr. Mount completed a challenging internship in small animal medicine and surgery at Garden State Veterinary Specialist in New Jersey.

Throughout veterinary school Dr. Mount worked closely with the dermatology department on various studies and projects which helped develop her passion for the diagnosis and treatment of dermatological cases. She was also drawn to the long-term relationships that are formed between animals and their owners during management of chronic dermatologic diseases.

Dr. Mount began her residency with Dermatology for Animals in 2010 and became a diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Dermatology in 2014. 

Outside of veterinary medicine her interests include running, baking, and traveling. She is also an avid sports fan.

Dr. Mount is a sucker for special needs animals, She has a pit bull named Petey with heart disease and a cat named Clarence with a neurological condition. She also has one normal cat named Cagney.

Our team

Dr. Meghan Solc grew up on a hobby farm in Brockville, Ontario, Canada. She graduated with a major in chemistry and a minor in biology from the University of Prince Edward Island in 2007. After taking a year off to work on a dairy farm, she was accepted into the Atlantic Veterinary College in P.E.I. Dr. Solc received her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine in 2012 and continued to further her education by attending a rotating internship in Toronto, Canada.

Her focus in dermatology grew stronger in her final year of veterinary school and continued through her rotating internship. A career in dermatology was solidified during her second internship in dermatology in Toronto, Canada. During this year, her interest in multi-drug resistant organisms took the forefront.

Dr. Solc completed her residency with Dermatology for Animals and has passed her board certification exam, becoming a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinarian Dermatology.
